Lake Sturgeon
Acipenser fulvescens
A living fossil and Michigan's largest freshwater fish, lake sturgeon are a threatened species with highly restricted, heavily regulated harvest seasons on a few waters (Black Lake, Menominee River, St. Clair/Detroit River). Catch-and-release is the norm.
